I can tell she is ready for a change! Fun! I love your idea of changing from valances to curtains. I also think she's got some great color choices. Kiwi and carmel are fun. . . and so different in feel. To me, the neutral carmel is a soothing neutral, but the Kiwi says WAKE UP!Maybe carmel walls, furniture painted black, with kiwi, black, and butter accents would be fun (but yeah painting that gorgeous bedroom suite might be too risky). I hope she does post the after pics.

What paint goes best in living room to match tan coloured coaches

Pretty much any paint color will work with Tan sofas. A light Gray Blue, lighter Tan, Darker Tan, Chocolate, Cream etc. You have lots of options.
