I like the use of two fabrics... I think I would bring them down... I would like to see the wall colour above the valance... just my opinion... GREAT idea!

I prefer the valence on the right. Love your pictures...you always make everything look so nice! Would you add pillows to the sofa as well, in a companion fabric? I know she just asked about valences...lol!

Of course, after seeing the valences, I'd like her to swap out that chest on the far way and replace it with a dark three drawer chest, with two buffet lamps on either side of the picture.

And what about a rug in there...

Great fabric and valance choice! Really adds a wonderful element in the room.

I love those!! I have been hating our valances for awhile now...way too country looking. Something like what you've shown here could be a great way to update and I might even be able to make some. :) Stopping by from Julia's party. :)

I prefer the option you illustrated in the picture. I also like that they are hung at the ceiling line but I think that I would have them hang a bit lower on the windows. Her windows are so tall and narrow they see out of proportion to me. Totally love the fabric!

Love these valances! She chose a very pretty fabric and I can see why she fell in love with it in the early fall when these colors rule! Grommet panels (I mean curtains?) with that fabric at the bottom or leading edge might also look pretty. I like the window treatments hung high to make the ceiling look higher and give more volume to the room. I do think that she should have a few pillows in that fabric and a few with at least one other coordinating fabric. I'd accent with the orange, since the rest of the room is fairly neutral. I'm learning from you Kristin. . .

thank you for the post.
