Free Advice... Window Valances

A reader writes:

Kristin,

I have a small window in my powder bath ( 30" W X 40 " T)  that I would like to put a window treatment on.  What would you suggest.  I have a pleated shade on there now and was thinking I'd like some sort of valance.

Solution:

Here are some illustrations of some of my favorite valance styles.  BTW, my window fashions experts tell me balloons are coming back.  Hmmm I don't know about that.  I hope they change them up. The one with the floral fabric is as close to a balloon as I think I can safely go.  These designs are from Pate Meadows.

Great advice! I like the two on the left the best. Balloons coming back ~ not crazy about that idea.
